Sustainability
As ocean enthusiasts, we strongly believe in minimizing our impact on the environment. At Mirche, sustainability is at the heart of our business, and we strive to integrate it into everything we do.
- In our daily operations, this means that we use recycled fabrics whenever possible. The fabrics we design in-house are made of Eco Lycra that is produced and printed in Portugal.
- We also make use of (recycled) deadstock fabrics, which are leftovers from other fashion houses, to reduce waste. Don't waste what you can still use.
- Our products are made to order, which eliminates excess inventory.
- We opt for sustainable alternatives in all aspects of our business, from our print work to our mailers.
On our Patterns and Colors page there is information of all the fabrics that we use currently.
Regardless of our current efforts we are always looking to do better. Don't hesitate to send us your recommendations at info@mirche.surf
On a more personal note:
A long long time ago I went with my sister to Primark.
Seeing all the clothes there made me sad.
Not only because they were made in terrible conditions, with disregard for the employees and the environment but also because none of these items could ever become anyone's favorite piece of clothing.
Why would you buy something that you won't be grateful for having?
I wholeheartedly believe that, regardless of the brand or the price, if you thoughtfully choose the clothes you buy and wear them with love, you're doing good.
With this philosophy in mind, we created Mirche, surfwear made with love.
